As you click on the link above you will hear my thoughts about helping our children become the best communicators they can be.

The more our kids learn about their voices, and how to use them in speaking and singing the clearer communicators they will be, and that’s important for a successful future.

Carole and I have six grandchildren and have taught literally thousands of students, young and old, around the world.  We really “get it” when it comes to teaching and coaching our kids the right way.

    1. Thanks for your note. Start by learning all you can from the free blogs at other info at vocalcoach.com Then, pool your resources and get a few of our training CD’s. You really do need to work on the technical foundations along with just singing. There’s no magical shortcut, BUT, if you do the work and have the heart you will grow as a group.

  2. Hi I’m the the mother of a 3 year old whom I want to start training her voice. What first should I do?

    1. Thanks for your excellent question. First, make sure your child is hearing some well put together music to she establishes a benchmark. Most experts say you should let them have a musical diet of simple classical music (Bach and Mozart for Babies or children) as well as more pop songs with good singers, bands and, of course, messages. Then, encourage your child by singing with her, helping her make up songs about her world and life. Finally, clapping in different rhythm patterns is fun and interesting for both of you and can add to the process. As she gets older you can help her match pitches and even simple scales to help develop that crucial brain-ear-larynx interaction. Our Teaching Kids To Sing series will be perfect when she’s about 4 or 5 and can help formalize her understanding of singing in a fun way. Check it out on the vocalcoach.com site.
