HAVING THE FAITH TO GO THROUGH

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

Some thoughts from the heart of Carole.

My favorite book in the Bible

This week I have been reading Esther, my favorite book in the Bible. Why is this book so special to me?  Maybe it is because I am a Jewish Christ-Follower and hid my beliefs at times.  Maybe it is because Esther was in foreign territory, where I have been many times.  Or maybe it is because God placed her someplace, “For such a time as this.”

Deliberate decisions

I’ve been there.  In fact, I have been in many situations where I knew God had put me.  While there, I had to make deliberate decisions to listen to what He said.  I had to choose to obey His voice rather than what I felt.

Having the faith to go thru is my choice, and yours. Really listening, then obeying will change not only your life but the lives of those around you.  (Esther 4:14)

Open your ears to hear what God is saying and then obey
My encouragement to you is to open your ears to hear what God is saying and then obey.  You may hear His voice in times of prayer, your personal time in Scripture or from a gifted teacher.  Esther listened and obeyed.  I am continually learning this same skill and it’s a blessing.  I wish the same blessing on you.

May your week be one of hearing His voice, and obeying.

Avocados and a Brown Bag

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Carole!

Chris and I hope that you have a peaceful and special Thanksgiving.  May it include quality time with family and friends and safe travels.  If you are unable to be with those you love take advantage of technology like video chats on Skype to stay connected.

Carole Beatty

Carole Beatty has still got the attitude and the fire!

For those of you who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving as a national holiday, this Thursday is a good excuse to stop your busy lives and remember those people, situations and experiences you are thankful for.  It’s just a healthy thing to do for all of us.

And, speaking of being thankful, I thought I would share a day in my life and how God makes Himself so personal to me.

Avocados and a Brown Bag

Scripture tells us over and over again how God supplies our needs.  I’ve read it; you’ve read it.  So, a few weeks ago I realized that the Avocado’s we bought on Saturday were still not ripe & I wanted to use them for dinner.  So Google to the rescue.  One “expert” said to put them in a brown paper bag with tomato and they would ripen quickly. I was excited until I realized I had no brown paper bag anywhere in the house.  Another  suggestion was to use Newspaper. I had none.  So, I took a napkin with tomato & put it in a dark place and forget about it.

Off I went to get my allergy shots.  When I sat down in the waiting room guess what was on the chair next to me?  A newspaper!  “Thank You, Lord, I said.”  Since it was old and used I felt free to take it home where I wrapped the avocado and tomato.  A need answered, but it gets better.

A little later, Chris & I went to vote, then to try out the brand new Chipotle’s restaurant in Brentwood.  We decided to not eat there because we had food at home waiting to be eaten.  The management saw us leaving & asked why, so we told them . They said, “Stay and eat all you want and it’s on us.”  We couldn’t turn down that offer and had a great free meal, another unexpected gift from the Lord.  The meal included a huge bag of chips in a . . . you guessed it . . . brown paper bag.  “Amazing, Lord,” I thought.  And, because I couldn’t finish my dinner  I went to get a lid to take it home.  The guy asked if I wanted a brown bag to put it in.  Of course I said YES.   My God supplies  all our need.  He cares so much even that we would have a ripe Avocado for dinner.

I am thankful for all you who read the Vocal Coach Blogs and pray the Lord will bless your day, in Jesus’ name.  Carole

TRUTH IS ALWAYS TRUTH

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I’ve been watching Chris teaching the principles of voice for many years.  Sometimes it’s to an individual and sometimes to a group of anywhere from 6 to 1,200 students. (That was in Singapore.)  I guess part of the fun is seeing that truth is always truth, no matter what country we’re in, or what language is being spoken.

The other place where I see the “Truth is Always Truth” principle is watching people mature in their walk with the Lord.  We’ve started calling ourselves Christ-followers, because we don’t want to just study the ways of the Lord; we want to actually live a certain way.

Here’s a Truth I love: When Chris and I apply Acts 2:42 to our lives it has us hearing good, honest, balanced, believable and challenging teaching; interacting with others of like mind and spirit; celebrating the Eucharist (communion) and having an active prayer life.  We’ve discovered that when we take the time to actually DO those things we grow.  When we don’t, we get stagnant.

I’d love to know your experiences with “Truth is Always Truth,” in either your vocal or spiritual life.  You can let me know in the “comment” section below.
